During my time in NYC for @svabioart residency, I heard about a community garden facing eviction. The conflict? The QTBIPOC run garden planted poppies for Palestine alongside a memorial to trans advocate, icon and neighbor, Cecilia Gentili.

@friendsofsunsetgarden and community gardens like it are a lifeline for community. They are third spaces, safe places and a vision of the solidarity and advocacy for community.

Through a series of townhalls, rallies and workshops alongside Jardín de Santa Cecilia, I began to imagine what it would like for a community garden to be able to move in a way that reflects and honors the community. How does mobility reflect accessibility, collaboration and diaspora that urban communities face?

To wrap up this project I sold 8.5x11” cyanotype prints that I made during the residency. Raising over $350.
